Not all rubies are created equal. The rubies used in this design vary in appearance and are not the same quality that is used in fine jewelry. Some may have more clarity than others, some may have brown or black inclusions, and some may even have small indentations on the surface. The latter are the result of geological processes and are not an indication that your ruby is scratched or structurally flawed (ruby is a very hard stone, with a ranking of 9 on the Mohs scale). Each of our rubies is beautiful in its own unique way and we hope you will love yours as much as we do :)
